SERIAL INPUT DISPLAYS
Data-Max Seven Segment LED Bar Displays
Serial input displays with numeric digits ranging from 2.3” to 18” in height and viewing from 20 meters to 180 meters. They will accept Serial data ASCII signals RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and are addressable which enables these displays to be interfaced with many host devices including PC’s, PLC’s, Counters, Weight Scales, Temperature Controllers, Master Clocks and Panel Meters that feature a Serial Port. In multi-drop applications, several options of interface and addressing further enhance the flexibility of these serial displays. An optional output relay can be provided for annunciation purposes.
Serial Input displays: Network Communication
An Ethernet card option is available to add these serial displays to an existing network. Each display will be given an individual IP address and then accessed from anywhere in the plant.
Communication Options
- RS-232 : This option is for use when a single display is located less than 50 feet from the controlling display
- RS-422/RS-485 : This option is for distances greater than 50 feet from the controlling display or when there is a need for multi-drop displays (more than one display from the same controlling device).
- LAN / Ethernet : This option enables displays to act as ' nodes' on a LAN system and receive information via Ethernet. Each display has an IP address.

- 4, 6, 8, 12 digits available ( 4 and 6 standard )
- Inputs PC, PLC, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485
- Software positioning of decimal point
- Data protocol 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity
- Data string ASCII protocol standard
- 5 field selectable baud rates, factory set 1200
- Field selectable address. Standard set to 01 for one display and in sequence for multiple displays
