Large Digit Serial Input Displays
Data-Max Seven Segment LED Bar Displays
These Large Digital Serial Input Displays will accept ASCII or MODBUS protocols for transmitting data via RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and are easy to configure and scale to virtually any engineering units with a PC.
Because these Large Digit Serial Displays are addressable, they can be interfaced with many host devices including PC’s, PLC’s, Counters, Weighing Scales, Temperature Controllers, Master Clocks, Panel Meters etc., that have a serial port. In multi-drop applications, several options for interfacing and addressing further enhance the flexibility of these serial displays. An optional output relay can also be provided to activate other control devices.
Ethernet Connection ( Networking ) ( LAN )
These Large Digit Serial Displays have an Ethernet connection option which allows the displays to be added to an existing ‘ network ‘ and communicate by standard TCP/IP protocol. Each display can be given an individual IP address and can then be accessed from anywhere in the network.
The Ethernet connection includes RS-422 and RS-485 serial communications and communicates with a straight forward ASCII or MODBUS protocolSerial Data Options
- RS-232 – for use when a single display is located less than 50 feet ( 15 mtrs ) from the controlling display
- RS-422 / RS-485 – for use over distances greater than 50 feet( 15 mtrs ) from the controlling display or when there is a need for multi-drop displays i.e. more than one display from the same controlling device.
- Ethernet (LAN) – with this option, the displays as ‘ nodes ‘ on a LAN ( Local Area Network ) system and receive information via ‘ Ethernet ‘ where each display has its own IP address.

Large Digit Serial Displays - Enclosures and Mounting
Indoor enclosures are extruded Aluminium and black powder coat painted and are IP54 (NEMA 3, 3S 13) protected. Outdoor enclosures are Stainless Steel and protected to IP65 (NEMA 4, 4X).
The Indoor cases can be Panel Mounted ( 2.3” and 4.0” size digits ) or all digit sizes can be Wall / Suspension mounted.
Outdoor cases are for Wall / Suspension mounting only
